Tui Na Massage and Acupressure |
 |
|
Tui Na
is a therapeutic massage based on the meridian system that guides
acupuncture. It promotes the flow of our vital energy, 'chi', along
the meridians thus nourishing our organs and bodies. Tu Na is much
more then a typical relaxing or circulation enhancing massage. It
often involves rigorous push-pull movements and deep tissue work
but includes a range of different movements. It involves applying
pressure to acupuncture points, meridians and groups of muscles.
It is particularly well suited to rehabilitation pf sports and other
injuries. It has a long history of being used for treatment for
children as they respond so well to this very safe and effective
therapy.
Acupressure is the application of pressure to
acupuncture points by the fingers. It can be thought of as 'needleless
acupuncture' and seeks the same results: relieving blockages along
the meridians and assisting the flow of 'chi' through our bodies.
Acupressure has a wide range of uses from enhancing acupuncture
treatment to relieving simple pain symptoms and even being the primary
treatment for a variety of conditions.
